ELENA BADIOLA
SYSTEMS ENGINEER
Elena Badiola joined Xtera in 2024 as a Systems Engineer, bringing over 18 years of experience in digital infrastructure, including both terrestrial and subsea networks. With a degree in Telecommunications Engineering, she began her career as a NOC engineer at a national ISP. She then spent 12 years at Telefonica, where she held various roles in operations and maintenance, sales engineering, and the planning and delivery of subsea projects, including involvement in the BRUSA, Marea, and Mistral submarine cables. Additionally, Elena worked as a product manager for Dark Fibre, Colocation, and Subsea services at EXA Infrastructure. Passionate about promoting diversity and sustainability within the submarine cable industry, Elena is excited about her new role at Xtera, where she is gaining fresh insights into the industry.
