13 March 2025 – Rognan, Norway. Today marks a major step forward in the TAM-1 Submarine Cable System deployment. Loading is officially underway at the Nexans facility, and the first Xtera repeater is now onboard the IT Intrepid. This moment brings us closer to delivering high-performance, low-latency connectivity across the Trans-Americas region. TAM-1, first announced in September 2023, is a 7,000km state-of-the-art fiber optic system designed to meet the surging demand for data across Florida, Central America, and the Caribbean. With Ready For Service planned for late 2025, this project is just the beginning of a large-scale digital infrastructure expansion that will reshape regional connectivity over the next five years.
